Southern Soul and Spice is built on resilience, family, and a passion for authentic Southern soul food with a Cajun influence. Founded by brothers Tim Chatman and Krail Mitchell, our journey began after nearly two decades in the ground transportation industry. When the 2020 pandemic forced us to pivot, we went back to our roots. Inspired by the recipes, traditions, and love passed down from our grandmother’s kitchen, we started sharing those flavors with the community through our first food trailer, Funky Chicken Street Kitchen.   As our vision grew, so did our brand. Funky Chicken Street Kitchen evolved into Culture Kitchen Co, expanding into catering for corporate events, private celebrations, festivals, concerts, and community gatherings. We traveled across Texas, bringing soulful cooking, bold flavors, and heartfelt dedication to every event.   Today, we are proud to begin the next chapter of that journey with Southern Soul and Spice. While our name and brand have evolved, our commitment to family, quality ingredients, Southern tradition, and bold flavors remains the same.  From our first food trailer to catering events throughout Texas, every step of our journey has helped shape who we are today.
